Speech of the Honor Student of the 5th Delegation to NIU

Dear everyone,

Good afternoon ! I am Xuan Peng, a third year student from Prospect College. Today I am highly privileged to be here speaking on behalf of the 5th honor students’ delegation from Prospect College to Northern Illinois University’s honor college this summer, and I am truly grateful for being bestowed with such a wonderful chance to study abroad shortly as an exchange student . Thank you !

The exchange program with NIU honor college has started in 2014.We’ve learnt that all the participants of the past four delegations have benefited a lot from the exchange experience. Their vision has largely been broadened, experience enriched, language proficiently enhanced, cross cultural understanding deepened and friendship with students abroad blossomed, and many of our alumni has greatly inspired by the experience and they’ve already found opportunities for further study somewhere across the world. Ever since the year 2015, Prospect College has started to welcome exchange student from NIU and St. Mary’s college, which makes it possible for us to interact with people from different cultural background deeply, introducing Chinese Culture to them and host them with great hospitality that they say they would never forget.  

I am truly honored to be a student of Prospect College and I am rather lucky to be chosen as a member of our 5th delegation to NIU honor college. Together with all my group members, we’ll try our best to make the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, follow all the disciplines, immerse as deeply as possible, learn as much as possible, practice as actively as possible during our stay and take each and every chance to promote Chinese Culture, the essence of Prospect College and the spirit of College of Information, Shanxi Agricultural University. On behalf of the whole group, I promise that with our joint effort, we are to be the best ever ambassadors of Prospect College, of College of Information, Shanxi Agricultural University.  

Last but not least, our heartfelt gratitude goes to our mother college again for such wonderful opportunities and all the support for making this visit happen. Prospect College is truly a fancy place for anyone who wants to be exceptional. Come and join us for a splendid future.  

Finally, to the 5th honor students’ delegation from Prospect College to NIU, I would like to quote Jack Ma’s sentence in Israel to end my speech “Yalla , let’s go together ”.

远景学院第五届赴NIU交流荣誉学生代表发言稿

大家下午好，我是远景学院三年级学生宣鹏。非常荣幸今天能够代表远景学院赴美国北伊利诺伊大学交流的第五期荣誉生发言。首先，我们对学校为我们提供短期交流的机会不胜感激。谢谢！

远景学院与美国北伊利诺伊大学的荣誉交换生项目于2014年就已经启动。我们了解到，过去所有四期交换生都从中受益匪浅。他们的视野在很大程度上得到了拓展，经验得到了丰富，语言能力获得了提高，跨文化理解得到了加深，还结交了许多外国朋友。通过这样的短期交流，许多远景校友奔赴世界各地知名高校进行深造。自2015年以来，远景学院开始接待来自美国北伊利诺伊大学和北爱尔兰女王大学圣玛利亚学院的交换生，这也让我们与不同文化背景的人进行深度交流，向他们传播中国文化并用中国人独有的热情接待他们，他们表示这样的经历让他们终生难忘。能够成为一名远景学院的学生我是非常幸运的；能够成为远景学院第五期赴NIU荣誉学院交流我更是倍感荣幸。我将与所有的团队成员一起，尽我们最大的努力充分利用这个千载难逢的机会，遵守纪律，努力沉淀，专心学习，积极练习; 珍惜每一个机会去传播中国文化，传递远景精髓，传达信院精神。

我代表整个团队承诺：我们会协同共进，努力成为远景学院，信息学院形象大使。衷心感谢学校为我们提供了这么好的机会，感谢学校对我们访学项目的全额支持。对于每一个渴望不同凡响的人来讲，远景都是一个极好的选择。加入远景，成就无限精彩的未来人生！

最后，我想引用马云在以色列特拉维斯夫大学演讲时的一句话结束我的发言，“Yalla, 让我们一起勇往直前！”。
