古老的平遥因国际摄影展的举办而热闹非凡，《大学英语3》课程以此为契机，将教学内容和摄影主题相结合，设计了一场实践教学活动，以期发展学生的英语应用表达能力、跨文化交际能力、辩证思维能力和合作协调能力。
实践教学的主题为“探索平遥摄影展，理解中国和世界的双向奔赴（a reciprocal / win-win situation to China and the world）”。课程班级的同学们以小组为单位，通过采访摄影展期间不同职业、国籍、地区以及不同文化的人和群体，如国际友人、参展人、策展人、志愿者、游客、当地居民、政府官员等，从不同的视角探索本次国际摄影展的价值和启发，思考和回应“大展如何成为实现中国和世界双向奔赴的有效途径？”这一问题。最后同学们将所见所闻和所思以短视频Vlog的形式进行呈现和汇报。
在课堂上，采用师生合作评价的方式，郝崇伶老师与同学们一同点评作品。同学们在视频中运用很多元素和案例，阐释了平遥国际摄影展如何成为中国和世界的双向奔赴的有效途径。例如，一位摄影家在介绍参展的一组作品时，呈现了新中国五十年的发展变迁，凸显了勤俭节约、尊敬老人的中国传统价值观的传承，以及诠释了中国梦实现过程中，百姓对病有所医、老有所养、住有所居的对美好生活的向往。另一位策展人提到，摄影展为中外文化交流提供了契机，国际友人了解真实的中国、感受丰富的中国文化。一位当地居民提到这是一场很棒的、极具吸引力的摄影展，可见这场活动增强了人们的文化自信。
最后，参加本次摄影展的志愿者们分享了他们十多天工作的体会和感悟，“沟通交流”“合作”被反复提到，这次平遥实践活动也让同学们意识到在未来的工作和生活中，面临困难时，通力合作和有效沟通将会成为问题解决的关键。

It is an honor to participate as a volunteer in this Pingyao International Photography Exhibition. During my 14 day volunteer service, I was mainly responsible for personnel reception and the placement of photography exhibits. I saw many excellent photography works and also saw things that I had never understood through this photography exhibition. At the same time, during the reception process, I was responsible for contacting some teachers and drivers to ensure their itinerary arrangements. During this event, I also developed my interpersonal skills and was able to accept rejection, which improved my psychological resilience. In short, the experience of this Pingyao International Photography Exhibition is precious and unique to me, and I will continue to work hard with this memory.

One of the highlights of my experience was the opportunity to interact with fellow volunteers and visitors. I met people from all walks of life, who shared their unique perspectives on photography and art. This helped me broaden my own understanding and appreciation for the medium. Another rewarding aspect of the volunteer work was the chance to contribute to the success of the exhibition. I assisted with various tasks, such as hanging photographs, answering visitor questions, and helping with the smooth running of the event. During the volunteer activities of Pingyao International Photography Festival , I saw a lot of excellent photography works and a lot of interesting things happened. I learned a lot of knowledge that I couldn't learn in school textbooks. My team leader was very gentle and our team was also very good. In the registration department, we met people from all over the world to communicate with them. learned the tips of social communication with people.
What impressed me most was a team of exhibitors from Hong Kong. I saw the Hong Kong and Macao pass for the first time and heard pure Cantonese. There is another interesting thing. In the last few days, our team was arranged to sell souvenir bags for the PIP. I met a foreigner who wanted to buy a bag. Because he gave us cash, we went to the surrounding stores to exchange him for cash. As a volunteer, I broadened my horizons and accumulated different experiences before.Although I do very small things, they mean a lot to me.

I had a great time volunteering for two weeks last month.In the preparation of this photo contest, I was responsible for guarding the warehouse, counting the goods every day, and moving freight with the workers.Although this job is very hard, it gives me more opportunities to contact with people of different professions, such as delivery workers, sanitation workers who are short of water, and contestants who need tools.At the same time, I also know a lot of tools and increase my knowledge.At the end of the activity, our English group did the shooting homework, interviewed different people, learned their different views on this photography exhibition, and received a lot.

In PIP, my main job is to create Excel, summarize guest information, and return information.
In my 13 day work, I not only mastered office skills, but also met many people, including partners who fought alongside me and interesting exhibitors. Compared to what I have done for this event, I feel that it is far from the growth that this exhibition has brought me. A free and intuitive exhibition appreciation, an opportunity to communicate closely with masters, a highly inclusive social practice, and a meaningful work experience. Breaking away from the identity of students, breaking away from the school model, and truly engaging in work. Similarly, the recognition of the teachers and curators also gave me great encouragement, and I have the same enthusiasm to devote myself to various tasks in the future.

This time I was responsible for the evening party and selection work in Pingyao International Photography Exhibition. In this selection work, I have the honor to participate in it to help the judges to choose. Seeing that each album has its own unique features, I feel the charm of photography more.
